Scott O’Neil is the former CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils. O’Neil had been the senior vice president of Team Marketing and Business Operations for the National Baseball Association. Prior to joining the NBA in 2001, he served as the president for HoopsTV.com, where he oversaw the management team and staff for the company while also negotiating contracts with companies such as ESPN and Footaction. Upon joining the NBA, he served as the vice president of Business Operations and Team Consulting, where he worked closely with NBA and WNBA teams to drive revenue and further develop their franchise brands. In his current role, he is responsible for advising NBA, WNBA, and NBA Development League teams on all business operations, including sales and service, ticket sales, sponsorship development, and marketing. For his contributions to the league and to the sports world as a whole, he has been named to the Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal Age Forty Under 40 list and is widely considered to be one of the best and brightest sports executives in the business.
